I continue to love to hate this book while still reading it for the (toxic but) intense romance, fast-paced action and the sheer DRAMA. I was THIS close to giving this book a 2-star because I am so done with Cat. I was totally cheering Bones on when he ripped one into her somewhere in the middle of the book about her hypocrisy/double standards, bad decision-making, recklessness, immaturity, etc. But then she kind of redeemed herself when she reflected a bit around 60% and acknowledged that she wanted to blame Bones for shit so she didn't have to admit she was a part of the problem. So, 3 stars instead of 2.

Man, characters like Rachel Morgan and Cat just make me miss Ilona Andrews' Kate.

My irritation with this series aside, I do like that this series is fast-paced, action-filled, romance-filled, and lots of plot twists and an interesting storyline. I continue to hope futilely that this series will write women less hatefully and to stop writing race insensitively... And also PLEASE let Cat be less irritating in the next few books.

After I started reading this book I realized that it was like book five in a series. Initially I just thought it was a cool story where the characters were already together. I finished it anyway though because I was into it to put it down and find the first in the series. Before I had even finished the book though I was on Ebay trying to buy the entire series. I loved Cat and Bones and their relationship. There's a nice dynamic between the two with Bones trying to hold and the power and Cat trying to be independent and strong. This series shows that those two personalities can co-exist.

"Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave." (From Amazon)

My favourite book in the series so far as I loved the plotline.

Still good, but this one was hard to read at some points with the suspected cheating from Bones.
