Did we need a second diary for Abigail? No, but was it wanted? Yes! I loved that we got a sequel and got to learn more about the revolutionary war from her point of view. It helped to round out her story more and give more of an ending.

11yo and I enjoyed this sequel. Both books helped frame our unit study on Revolutionary War. This isn't a part of the war I remember learning about -- the families that followed the soldiers from camp to camp. I appreciate this perspective of the war on the ground.

I do love the Dear America books and this one is no exception. It picks up in the second half of the Revolutionary War and we see how every day families are effected by the war around them. I would love to read a third book about Abby, to see more about her life after the war.

This is an excellent book. I recommend it to readers that have read other Dear America books.

It was a good book, but kind of boring until you get closer to the end. Sometimes in Dear America Books you know what's going to happen so plot points aren't as exciting as a normal book.
