This was one of my favorite reads of the year. How daring, this man? Inspiring is the least powerful to describe his journies, but also the ability to find reasons for excitement and cultivate wild ideas has been ever present, but perhaps far more so now.

There's a fair bit of speculation in this book, but the general sense of je ne sais quoi keeps it interesting. Would make a good "Inspired by True Events" movie.

What a well-written, crisp account of one man’s crazy attempt to conquer Mt. Everest all by his lonesome. 3.5 stars.

Pretty wild character but the telling of the story was tedious. Was a struggle to get through the book, and then the end was very good! I think this would have been better as a long article.
