The Angel Tree - Lucinda Riley
Published 2015
"For my sister Georgia"
.
When her feet hit the snow on Marchmont estate, 30 years after her last visit, Greta feels her world shifting. Something stirred, something changed but she can't quite put her finger on it, she can't quite recall the memory...Yet.
.
Running away from home with the hopes of making it big in the City of Angels is to most a pipe dream. Appearing on screens around the world, your name in lights but, sometimes the light is too bright. Sometimes the light awakens the darkness we run from, and, sometimes just sometimes the darkness is too deeply embedded within us that we can't run, we can't hide, we can't escape.
.
"Sweeping, absorbing, beautifully written and utterly compelling" Lancashire Evening Post

I didn't like Greta at all. She seems to be always useless and let David resolve everything for her.
I don't understand what makes her attractive to David, especially during 30 years...
I find it hard to like her, and then she looses her memory, and the reader is supposed to feel compassionate for her? But she did nothing good, and a lot wrong...and now she doesn't do anything...

Review to follow but this needs five starts right now! such an epic read that had me hanging on her every word and what a story! Wow Cheska in particular. Lucinda you have excelled yourself with this complex yet utterly riveting tale.
