Really, really fantastic. It's been forever since I've read a Batman book. I think Hush might have been the last one? But this is such a great take on Batman. Snyder is incredibly wordy in his scripting, but it works well. It's a nice, meaty book to sit down and read. Capullo's art is great. I can't say he was ever much on my radar as anything other than the "Spawn guy" (and I never read that title) so it's been great to see his work on this book. A great merger of detail and energy. The Court of Owls, and Talon, are a great concept and have a great look.

Now this is a satisfying Batman story though a little disjointed in places.
I love how Snyder and Capullo are playing with style and form throughout to try to increase the sense of disorientation though.

This was so good. I finally understand what people have been talking about when they say this series is one of the best Batman comics.

As intriguing as ever. Sucks that I don't have the next one on hand though.

The only reason I re-read this is because I thought I would get the next one immediately... life is not very friendly so unfortunately I do not have it on hand. SIGH

Molly liked it a lot more than I did. I had a hard time rating this one, even thinking of going as low as two stars. I like my Batman to be more believable, like it could happen in real life.

SpoilerWhen it gets sci-fi-ish, like the way Dick Grayson's great-grandfather was still "alive", it sort of spoils Batman for me. Superman and Green Lantern should be the ones where I have to suspend my disbelief.

But overall, I do like reading Batman comics.

najboljsi comic kar sem ga vidla. obozujem art style, specificno so mi vsec kako so narisana trupla.

I’m coming into this with very little knowledge of any recent Batman plot points, characters, and story arcs so perhaps my view is naive - but I thought this was excellent!

I was somewhat familiar with the whole Court of Owls premise from the TV show Gotham, but I think it’s all done much better here. It’s unsettling to see how badly Batman is roughed up (physically and mentally) by them in their underground layer, and the fact that it’s only going to get worse is blowing my mind. What a great cliffhanger ending for this first volume!

The art is also detailed and brutal, and does some fun things with layouts and panel formats. I tore through these first few issues in a single sitting, and I’m already reserving the next few from the library. Great stuff!

This starts off normal and gets more and more ridiculous the further you read into it. Fortunately, it's ridiculous in an awesome way.
