Emily and Jameson meet in first class and have a steamy night when their plane has to make a stopover in Boston for the night. 12 months later, Emily moves to NYC to start her dream job. Turns out that her new boss, the CEO of the company, is none other than Jameson.
Honestly I didn't like Jameson. He was such an asshole. He was so hot and cold. The way he treated Emily was unforgivable. Yes their chemistry was fire, but he was so horrible to her, I don't know how she could have forgiven him. I found him to be very toxic.
For the most part I liked Emily. She didn't let Jameson walk all over her and stood up for herself. I like that she didn't just accept a lame apology from him, but made him work for her forgiveness.
I wish there had been a bit more focus on the workplace mystery portion, that was pretty interesting, but lacking.
Tropes: boss/employee, one night stand, billionaire

I really struggled with the rating. I LOVED the little mystery side plot that was happening, and honestly wish that was the focus of the book! I was much more invested in that storyline! Unfortunately, the toxicity in the relationship was a bit too romanticized for me. Also, I hate rich guys who think that they are entitled to the world just because of their status and power. Nothing romantic about that!

I listened to the audiobook of this, and it was pretty fun to read. It’s your typical, very much white billionaire boyfriend meets girl next door vibe, hit it off, but he’s got a past and some demons and she wants to be the one to fix him. Nah honey, he needs a therapist. And so do you. I’ve never known a couple ARGUE so much in my life, and honestly the majority of the book was one of them getting an attitude.
Minor: Physical abuse, Rape, Sexual violence, and Gaslighting
