A fine, fast read. Inspiring but bordering on platitudinous at times (out of her control, but that jumping lady on the cover is TOO MUCH). I don't watch any of Shonda's shows; probably would have gotten more out of it if I had.

This was a refreshing, lighthearted, and earnest look into Shonda Rhimes's journey to self-love and improving the circumstances of her life. It felt like sitting down and listening to a friend. She's never boring, never condescending, but very blunt and honest about her opinions. She tells her stories effortlessly, though maybe sometimes she could get to her points a little faster. Overall it was a joy to read, and honestly has me kinda wondering what I've been missing out by avoiding Grey's Anatomy all these years.

This was a pleasant surprise. I picked it randomly because it was immediately available on audiobook through my library. And I really did enjoy it. It was fun that they could use audio of her giving her various speeches rather than just reading them in a book.

The creator of Grey's Anatomy decided to say, "Yes," to everything for a year, and it changed her life in a great way. She learned so many things about herself. It was fun to read about it. And yes, made me wonder if I should give it a shot. It was actually a little scary how much I related the her before she started saying yes. She could have been writing about me.
