There is nothing I like more than when the authors themselves narrate the audiobook format. When speaking about personal experience or interests John Green brings a special kind of energy that any other narrator wouldn't be able to.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Anthropocene Reviewed! Going into it I was wondering whether it being a collection of essays would make it feel very abrupt when going from essay to essay (often I find short story collections can feel that way) but the formatting Green used of each one being a review made it feel very cohesive.

Had an absolute blast and I highly recommend listening to it as an audiobook. Definitely deservant of all the praise this book has received.

Anyone who knows me knows that I adore John Green and anything he writes. I’ve read every book of his and somehow they’ve always found me when I needed them most. I read “Fault in Our Stars” when I needed to remember why I loved books so much. I read “Turtles All the Way Down” as a freshman in college who could barely keep their head above water as depression swallowed me whole. I read “Looking for Alaska” once when I felt like Pudge and another when I needed to stop being such an Alaska. Finally, I read this book fresh out of college and terrified of everything about the world. It found me when I needed it most - when I needed to remember why I loved Earth and little moments and living. Honestly, I’m just forever grateful for John Green for always knowing exactly what to say when I need it, even if he doesn’t know he’s doing it.
