I hated Nate even more after we got his POV. He had scum written all over him and was the type of teacher I actively avoided in high school, the teacher who was just a little too nice and playful. I get why he picked out Addie. He knew she was having a tough time and preyed on her.
I say the "twist" with Kensey coming, but not the big final reveal! The only thing, that saved this book from being a low 3-star to a high 2-star, was the twists I didn't see coming.
Narrator Rating: 3 stars
I don't know if it was the speed or what, but at certain points in the book, the female narrator sounded like she had a terrible lisp and was very whiny.

There is no GRAPHIC description of rape or even sexual content. At least not compared to other books I've read. There's no real description of it, it's more talked about/mentioned, and there are no sentences upon sentences about it or vivid descriptions, which is what I consider graphic. It's all kissing fade-to-black and then afterglow. And sexual assault is due to a power dynamic not force being used. The injury is strangulation marks on the neck, not anything gory or particularly gruesome. The addiction is a shoe addiction, not a substance addiction.whitneyfoster's review against another edition
