This was an interesting read. The writing was really good, as Frieda McFadden always writes well, but the subject matter is very uncomfortable. I can understand that that was the point, however I have read many of her other novels, and comparatively, this one feels out of place. This book is super predictable, which is also something different from her other novels. This was still well-written and for the most part entertaining, except that middle section was very uncomfortable to get through. I also think that Addie as a character is super frustrating. Yes, she is a child and when I was 16, I made bad decisions too, but she went way over the line of what would be an expected amount of stupidity for a teenager. I wouldn't recommend this if you like Frieda's other novels but maybe you would enjoy it if you want to explore darker material.

This is my least favorite McFadden book so far. Every character is a horrible human being.

some plot twists were predictable & some things didn’t add up 100% but there’s something about Freida McFadden‘s books (and lying in bed with covid) that makes me read them in less than a day, and despite some - for me definitely not all - of them being predictable, in terms of plot twists her books simply are unmatched (though I feel like everything happened so fast that I already forgot / still need to process some of the insane things that were revealed near the end which I didn’t see coming AT ALL + the clues foreshadowing those things)

i might need to reread this knowing the ending, because some things just aren't adding up. 

but i did thoroughly enjoy this book, despite the ethics & morals involved.

Honestly, this was not worth the read. This was my first experience with a Freida McFadden book and Im really hoping this was just a bad apple. It just felt very Wattpad and the ‘twists’ at the end were underwhelming and left so many questions unanswered.
