This is my least favorite McFadden book so far. Every character is a horrible human being.

I’m always flabbergasted at the end of a Frieda novel. This one definitely gave me the ick, so check the trigger warnings. I really can’t believe the final twist. That was…unexpected, to say the least. These books are so easy to digest, even when they’re about the most heinous topics. It’s like bad reality tv in the best way possible…you just can’t look away.

I find this topic deplorable. It made me want to vomit every step of the way. The only thing I didn’t see coming was the first plot point with Addie’s dad, Addie, and Hudson. I saw everything else coming. I don’t know why this topic is even written in as a story. It’s quite disgusting that a 40 yo will think that way honestly about high school students. I called the relationship between eve and Nate from the beginning with how her relationship is with her parents.

This book has truly left me speechless. At first I didn’t like it at all - I found the writing style to be almost juvenile. It is reminiscent of a Wattpad story written by a teenager. I’m so glad I powered through despite the not-so-great writing. About 3/4 of the way through, the plot twists started and they DID NOT STOP! I will definitely be reading more of Freida McFadden’s books in the near future.
