This book follows Zinnia Taylor who in trying to escape the chaos of her family, finds an overgrown and long forgotten trail near her house. It's a great story about untangling your feelings and processing grief for a younger audience.

So the first time I read this was in 2nd grade as a reading assignment and we had to do reviews of a set of chapters that we were assigned to read. As a part of the review we had to draw a picture and there were plenty of options to draw, but child me chose to draw the dead cousin in a dresser drawer and that's all that was the only thing I could remember from this book until I reread it.

Hi, this book is still my favorite, like it was twenty years ago.
