**** I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ****

I was really looking forward to reading this book, I loved the promise of the summary: 10 years earlier Jen had broken up with her high school sweetheart at the same time as being diagnosed with cancer. It's very much a fairy-tale romance, complete with a "Cinderella you shall go to the ball" moment but sadly for me it simply fell flat.

The characters to me seemed shallow, there was no depth to them. She was upset at him for breaking up with her when she was ill, but then it turns out it was actually before she was dagnosed and he didn't even know... So I'm not sure what she was angry about. He felt guilty and wanted to make it up to her.... She wasn't going tto let him say sorry (though I'm still not sure what he did wrong).
Maybe I just missed the point.

Almost no one wants to go to school reunions, am I right? And this is what happen in this book. Jenny is 'forced' by her group of friends to go to a blind date for find out that was her ex boyfriend from high school. She doesn't know what happended at that time, when he left her, but still she decides to go out with him for make Riley jealous while he's trying to get her back. I received a copy of this book through the Voracious Readers Only this morning, and only then I found out that is a prequel. I will for sure read Nearly Wed also.
I couldn't put it down for all the afternoon. Is such a fresh story, easy to read. I loved it.

Quick and easy read. I agree with some of the other reviews though, as a reader I didn’t feel much of a connection with the characters.
I did enjoy the ending though, as I do like a good HEA.
Numerous typos throughout. I bit more editing would of done this book a world of good!

I love second chances, especially for love. When we are younger, we make stupid mistakes. We think the world revolves around us & that is all that matters. As we grow, we realize our choices affect those around us that we care for, whether positively or negatively.

This book explores how we grow as adults and how hope & a little honesty can bring back love into our lives. How pushing someone away "for their own good" hurts both involved and doesn't solve anything. The best thing is love and allowing yourself to open up and find it again is a huge to be given.
