When I picked up this book I was not expecting it to take the twists and turns that it did. I thought it would be a cute brother’s best friend romance but it was so much more. Check the trigger warnings because this does dive deep into topics like C-PTSD.

I think my favorite parts were Leo’s chapters. I enjoyed understanding things from his perspective to bring new dimensions to his character. It allowed me to see him as more than a prideful jerk. He definitely had layers to him.

The found family aspect was cute and I liked that there was almost this Friends feeling to it of them all living in the same building together.

This a slow burn enemies to lovers with a wild plot twist but it all works out in the end! Congrats to this indie author on publishing a book and tackling some extreme tough topics! 🩵

"Love is patient, love is kind, and love is selfless. But love is also saying that you need to get your shit together. Love is pushing you to be better and expecting better. You only accept the love you think you deserve.”

WOW. What a debut!!
SEOTH was such an emotional and beautiful interracial romance that made me laugh and cry until the end. The writing was so beautiful, you could feel the characters and the story. Thank you Alanna, for the E-ARC.
The story had a good balance between discussing various topics like mental illness, abuse, violence etc and the romance, the family bond, the banter etc. The author did a good job in keeping the story alive throughout the book.
It was a good slow burn and the spice was of the right amount and it went well with the story. Also there were many swoon worthy moments and heart melting scenes.

Leo & Kam were made for each other. She was his Stellina and he was her sunshine. They were fighting for their love and against their traumas. "A love so strong, it rivaled the sun."

Kam was such a strong woman. She was a warrior and I love her. She learned to come out of her comfort zone and to stand up for herself. She was scarred and worn out from her past but did not give up. Proud of her!! Even though he fell first AND harder , her love for him was no less. "You're the sun and I don't like cloudy days anymore."
Leo was a narcissistic "Sun" but he'd let you bask in his sunlight. He was mean and caring at the same time. That man had no filter, even when it comes to his love for Kam. He loved her in every way. He was "the one guy who looked like he might've been interesting but had the personality of a porcupine".

The Sinclairs. I've no words for that family. Found family or not, that was how a family should be. The parents, the siblings, the love and care they had for each other made me tear up. Love them so much.
All in all, this was such a beautiful story. Alanna Fraser is now added to my list of go-to authors.

Tropes:
Found family
Dislike to lovers
Slow burn
Mental illness representation and healing journey
SA Awareness
Dual POV

How do I put into words that I’ve fallen inlove with fictional characters and will revisit them often between the pages of this book. I cannot get enough.

Solar Eclipse of the Heart is an amazing book that makes one rethink their existence, why am I here? what is my purpose?
but, I am literally here to say that your purpose is not to make anyone’s life easier, so please be inconvenient.
Kam and Leo have the greatest most painful love story ever told and i am jealous but happy that I got to experience it from an outside POV.
(although I pretended Leo was talking to me the entire time because my name is Camara)

I gave this book 5 stars because it’s one of those books that never get old. You never tire of reading the banter between all the characters and you never tire from feeling the love pour from out of the pages.

I CRIED. But I am also a very emotional person.
Please read the trigger warnings, there are some really detailed descriptions of domestic and physical abuse as well as some descriptions about pain and some suicidal ideation so please take care of yourself if you choose to indulge.
I hope you indulge

I was lucky enough to be given the ARC of this book
This was a love story of epic proportions with such well rounded and written characters and back stories I was hooked from page 1.
The story surrounds many TW subjects but I didn't feel overwhelmed or consumed with them as the balance of them in between romance, banter, spice and suspense sub plot was written perfectly.
I fully recommend this book to any lovers of contemporary romance and look forward to the authors future work

They were cute after like 35%. I didn’t like how she addressed their relationship in the beginning, but it got better and so did she.

I didn’t start seeing a connection with the characters. Leo was completely boring to me. He was the stereotypical “hard on the outside but there is more to him” character. It felt like there was nothing more to him. I liked Kam and her story. I know I’m not just looking a romantic connection after reading a few slow burn romances, but I didn’t even care for there “rivalry” or “dislike”. It felt surface level and shallow. Also there was a lot of telling and not showing which was kind of disappointing. Leo and Kam would have cute moments (to me) and then it would be over and the character would tell me what happened after the scene was over.
