REVIEW:

I enjoyed this dark RH romance with a bit of a cold case mystery twist.

The guys are certainly dark. But they are also a bit of vigilantes. However, after finding out what she saw years ago that sent her running, it’s hard to understand their true motives and morals. They are into some twisted stuff! But in dark romance I do like ‘em villainous so this didn’t necessarily detract from their appeal (for me).

Kate is tough. I liked her at times, but she’s also a little confusing. Sometimes she seems like she likes what they do to her and even understands their motivations for hunting down and killing rapists. But what she did at the end (framing Jack to get him arrested) was surprising and I didn’t necessarily understand why she did it.

I do kind of hope she comes around and joins their vigilante team. I also hope Jack isn’t in jail for long so he can get back into the story. But we will see what happens.

Oh and I have a theory. I wonder if Jack and Oliver’s mother’s killer ends up being their father? That’d be quite the twist.

Overall it was a great start to the series. Sexy, dark, twisted, mysterious, and wildly entertaining. Leaves off with a bit of a cliffy so I’m on to the next one right away!

P.S. The m/m interaction in this is very light and only from talking about a flashback where their two best friends (non-related) were jerking each other off. Not present tense. But hoping for more of that in the coming books (personally).

Not at all what I was expecting

I loved everything about this book. Kate returns home where her 2 stepbrothers live. They tormented her growing up, along with their 2 best friends. I thought it would be a standard bully stepbrother book but it wasn’t. It was so much more! I definitely did not see that cliffhanger coming.

Degenerate men who has rape fantasy and is projecting their superiority of having moral high ground by haunting and killing other rapists and abusers whilst terrorizing one woman and abusing her one way or another . Honestly, she should take down all of them and let them rot in prison.

This is definitely dark and twisted. As of yet, I see nothing redeeming about these four men. They are pretty hypocritical as well. The authors are going to have their hands full redeeming them in the next part because without it this isn't a dark romance and instead would fall into more of erotic horror because there isn't anything romantic in it.

Even though the characters are sleep upside-down bat crap crazy, the storyline was intriguing. I wanted to see how Kate was going to get out of this situation.

Twisted

So I don't know how I feel about this. The guys are wanting revenge on r@pists and are getting rid of them but they themselves are one, like hypocrites much? Their own actions were disgusting and I absolutely hate Jack and especially Davis, with him being a cop and forcing himself on women he pulls over for speeding. The ending just absolutely threw me for a loop and just may have killed what little I may have liked about the book. I felt like there was so much more potential with the story and it could've been longer.
