This was a really inspiring and well written read. I didn't know that this was a sequel to another book by this author until the end, but I don't feel that it's necessary unless you really want to know more about the main character's background. Jasmine is now older, and a practicing attorney at her uncle's law firm. Engaged to her man, things are almost looking up, until she looses a case and life tends to spiral. Still having music in her heart, she has to navigate life and discover what she really wants to do.

This book had several life lessons. It also briefly touches on domestic abuse, and there were several surprises that was not expected, especially near and at the end of the book. The author did a great job of pulling at your emotions. I really enjoyed this book and will read the previous book sometime in the near future.

This book is one of the better from the Kimani Tru Series. I loved it from start to end and even cried at the end. Very well written and a good read.
