I am usually not that interested in sexual stories but for the trans rights Readaton I had to make an exception. Sex work and other sexual perspectives and perceptions are for many trans people a daily experience.

With that said, the comic is a collection of experiences from a character that we get to see and look at. She swears and is angry and still figuring out her stuff. I don’t really get the book like probably other trans people do, I am not really sexual active nor am I still unconfident in my own performance or representation. It’s still a good read for those seeking validation in the darkness and hope. That you don’t have to be the person and the victim of whatever the world creates around you. That your identity whatever it is matters and your actions too.

I cannot describe my love for this book. Its so beautiful and sad and kind. Its affirming and frightening and unbelievably beautiful. I want to cry every time I read it.
One of the last pictures in the book is a trans girl wearing a shirt of the punk band Against Me! In one of AM!'s songs, there is a line that I think of often (especially when I am low). It's "You want them to notice the ragged ends of your summer dress/You want them to see you like they see every other girl/but they just see a faggot."

I think this book is about faggotry. Its about being a transgender faggot whose life experience blends being a gay man in some social spaces and a woman in others. The men calling you slurs in the street dont care if youre a woman; youre still just a faggot. The men you fuck at gas stations dont care if youre a woman; youre still just a faggot. Its not a continuity of identity, but of experience. And its rendered so beautifully here. Its funny, its harsh, its cruel. Its an exceptional book. I love it so much.

Verges into an edgy fantasy at times, but once in a while that can be nice. Trans-FeMC. Lots of funny cartoon references.

While I appreciate this work for its artistic value and raw honesty, the form of storytelling this work uses (non-linear vignettes) is not one I tend to like on a personal level. I think if I read it again I’d feel stronger about it, as the moments that hit truly hit hard, but due to my own personal preference for the kind of storytelling devices used, it did not work for me in the way I hoped it would. Still I wonderful read and if you’re looking for something quick about this subject matter, I’d recommend it!
