I was expecting more tidbits of happiness advice and quotes for inspiration than what seemed like page filler pictures. The book comes across more like someone's personal Things That Make Me Smile Tumblr than an actual guide book for others to utilize.

My Review:

These two are just too cute! Just look at them! They're small but packed full of happy. There wasn't a better way to start my morning than to have my husband walk in with the journal. I had been 'patiently' waiting for it, which is something I'm not very good at.  The Instant happy book (on the left) is going to stay on my coffee table forever; every page is insanely awesome. They're cutesy motivational pictures, and I love them! I flipped through it so many times while unpacking this week. It really is instant happy.

The journal is what I am most excited about. It has a journal page for every day of the year. I can tell this will be a great addition to my daily routine. The first page was fantastic; it opened with a quote from Paulo Coehlo(I'll post it below) and asked to list your little miracles for the day. I was able to fill the page after only being awake a few hours. It helped put my day in perspective; My husband let me sleep in, he made me breakfast in bed, the book I had been waiting on came in, along with many other little things! While it only took a few minutes to write everything down, it did help me realize all I had to be happy for today. I'm sure I'll be posting about these two books very often.
"You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter of paying attention to this miracle."

This is one of the shortest but best books I have ever read. Not only is the cover bright and fun, but the inside is just as gorgeous with it's illustrations and photography. Not just that but the quotes and inspiring words are what you need to hear on a daily basis. This book will make you think and make you smile. It's a book I will I know I will read often.

This was exceptionally fast to read. A real page turner. Most pages have a great inspirational quote with a graphic to help it stick within your brain. I highly encourage everyone to give this a read. Continuously and often. We could all use some happy thoughts in our days!!

Summary

While this isn't a reading book, it is a fun little journal to go through every day. This journal has a page for you to write each and every day. But trust me when I say this, this is no ordinary journal. It doesn't overwhelm you with writing a whole bunch, just a little less than half of a page every day. That, and every journal entry comes with motivational quotes, scientific studies, and thought-provoking questions. No need to worry about running out of ideas about what to write!

My Review

I give this book a 3.5/5. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with the book, it's bright and happy and grabs attention right away. I rate this book PG-13 because while there is nothing offence about this book, it talks about life decisions which are generally for teenagers and adults. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Nothing earth shattering in here but some nice reminders with a lot of fun visuals. The kind of book that would be nice to put on the coffee table, look at once in a while, and hope your kids do too.

I bookmarked a few cute images. This would have been awesome as a set of flashcards.
