Well, we made it through. Almost DNF’d a few times. 

This one started so strong, but an intriguing dark romance plot. But then once the couple got together it was just sex. I don’t know if it’s just me, but when a couple decides they love each other but their relationship is only sex, I have a hard time believing it. There has to be more substance. But no, literally every chapter is a very intense and graphic sex scene. 

I think this book could have been about 150 pages shorter. It felt really drawn out. 

Also, new ick unlocked: he can smell that she’s ovulating?!! Absolutely not. 

Check the trigger warnings. I enjoy dark romances but this one was unfortunately not it.

The idea was so solid but the execution just didn’t cut it for me. While the spicy scenes were ✨spicy✨, to say the least, the story had so many holes and the characters didn’t feel like they had any depth. While they have both struggled in life, the character development was severely lacking. I didn’t hate it, but I can’t see myself looking back and thinking “yeah, that was a good book”.
