First manga I’ve ever read. Overall, an enjoyable experience. I appreciated the art style and was surprised at how easy it was to read: I flew through the volume in two sittings. The story itself didn’t captivate me as much as I had expected it to considering how beloved it is, and I feel quite let down by the lack of science fiction elements relative to the numerous action scenes and graphic violence, but I’m sure there’s plenty more to look forward to in subsequent volumes.

Great read, obviously there are huge differences from the anime, but that is what drew me into wanting to read the manga, which generally I'm not into.

This is the first time I have read manga, and it’s only the first volume (out of 7?) but I don’t think I will be reading more of them. While I do enjoy anime, I don’t think manga is for me, even if I do appreciate the beautiful panels and obviously the storytelling. I’m excited to watch the movie after this one!
