Hated Reira in this volume even more lol. Love Hachi and Nana. Super interesting to see Hachi and Shoji’s interaction after everything’s happened and I think Shoji also feels like Hachi’s grown in a way. I also miss what Hachi and Shouji could’ve been if only he wasn’t a fool for cheating on her and just have been a little patient with her.

I understand that there are characters in this more innocent than others and while the many nuances in personality of each of them is illustrated with complexity, Nana playing the victim is simply not fair. I can sympathize with her character while also realizing that she's done some pretty terrible things. As an adult woman, she has full governance over her life and decisions. Her immaturity was easier to excuse when it was just silliness and didn't affect the others, but so many fans of this beloved series just like putting her on a pedestal of holiness, separating the morally black from the white.
