As a fan of the Netflix show, I came in with expectations that were completely disappointed. This story is dark in ways I'd say are unnecessary and pointless. There's not much of a plot besides Sydney being a jerk to everyone and killing people. There's no real backstory to her powers or personality or anything. The lessons and takeaways at the end are harmful, and the queer representation doesn't add much.

I'd vote skip this if you're on the fence about it.

I didn't enjoy this graphic novel. The whole story feels underdeveloped and disjointed, and I forgot entirely that it was following the main character's journal so the author didn't make good use of that idea. It felt like this was just too focused on being edgy and shocking and forgot to do the rest of the story building. There's also a lot of unconsensual kissing in this.

I think I wasn't as disappointed by this as some other people because I didn't watch the Netflix show. 
There were things I liked about it but mostly I think it was too fast paced for me to truly care about the plot or the characters.

I felt like this book could have done more. If anything it just felt 🤷🏿‍♂️, nothing was done to make the characters likeable nor was anything done to go deeper into some parts, everything just seemed to flypast. 
      One thing I did appreciate was the art style, the goofiness of it seemed to balance out the dark nature of it but to be completely honest the show did a better job.
