Romantic Suspense is very hit and miss for me - and Shattered Secrets was a miss. It had lots of potential - the concept of someone who's been kidnapped, escaped without any memories of what happened, and returning to the town where it happened when another child is kidnapped sounds like it should be gripping. For me, it just wasn't. Full DNF report to follow.

Review
This is a great mystery thriller and yes I was in need of one! Though I did guess the outcome pretty early one it was still great fun to puzzle along and find out if I was right in the end.
I really liked Tess. She has been trough a lot and is aware that she freaks out and why but still she is not a complete victim. Things have to happen so she dares to step up and try to make them happen.
The love story development was a bit weak and predictable. Though I did not really mind as I was enjoying the puzzle and excitement in the missing girls to much.

Cold Creek only holds a world of nightmares and terror for Tess Lockwood, she was kidnapped and then held captive for several months but remembers nothing about the crime that continues to tear apart the community she once lived. Unsure about how people will feel about her being back especially her next door neighbour Gabe who was watching over her when she was abducted Tess returns to Cold Creek to sell her inherited family home so she can hopefully move on with her life back in Michigan.
Tess didn't think she was ready to deal with her ordeal or to remember her past but as another girl goes missing in Cold Creek she is adamant to find out who is behind the abductions. Alongside Gabe, Tess gradually starts to remember her painful memories and uncovers the truth but does she manage to find the recently abducted girls?
This thriller will keep you on your toes.. expect the unexpected because I was blown away when I finally figured who it was (literally only pages before it was revealed) there just really was no clue!.. Now don't be reading ahead to find out you'll totally spoil the story!!
The main characters are extremely likeable and I was engaged throughout, ultimately I just really needed to know who the crazy person was lol!
