This book was recommended to me by different people and I can understand why, it’s a good read, gets the head thinking with a nice little twist.
The silent patient is a quick easy one day read. Although I did enjoy this book overall, it was really the final twist that brought my rating up.
Half way through the book I felt myself getting slightly frustrated as it seemed more about Theo the psychotherapist. Theo tells us about his past, his troubling childhood and his relationship with his wife Kathy. My wife asked me at this point how I was enjoying the book, to which I replied. I feel like if I never finished it, I wouldn’t be bothered. At this point is probably a book I could forget.
I’m glad I continued and read on, within the last couple of chapters I had my suspicions on who certain characters where and upon reading the last 20 odd pages my suspicions were put to bed and the twist came in. One I didn’t see coming! This helped bring the books rating up for me. Although it took to reading a full book and those last few pages to make the full book click for me. It made all those other previously pointless pages instantly all worth while. I understand that we had to hear about Theo and his relationship to find out about ‘the silent patient’ etc. But for me it was just meh.
I probably would recommend this book for others to read although it isn’t one I’d jumpy about.

Writing was kiiind of dry and some aspects of the ending didn't make too much sense but that exact moment things click and you realize what is going on make it so so worth it. Although overall it was a pretty averagely written book, I walked around in a daze for like 15 minutes as soon as I was done with it because the slow buildup and payoff had been very well done.
I do wish the arresting scene wasn't the scene with which the book ended though. It reveals no new development that we hadn't already known about and reads as redundant and clumsy.
I would have had more time to guess the murderer if it hadn't been for the fact that I was blazing through the book. It was so easy to read for some reason!
But yes, would definitely recommend as a thriller you can speed through and can get a fresh little twist with.

I didn’t mean to read this, but I gobbled it down in two days. Twists and unputdownable. Recommended.

Not gonna lie, the twist had me, I wasn't expecting it. Howeverrrr, the plot, oh the plot!
So many unresolved issues, unnecessary details.
