This was a quick read. Ultimately I guessed the twist from around chapter ten, but the writing is really well done. Each character has a very distinct voice.

its clear from the beginning Theo is an unreliable narrator, and that keeps you on your toes throughout the book. Alicia is a really loveable character and her diary entities helped my rating. As well written as the book is, I found it hard to read many of theos passages just because he annoyed the fuck out of me, to be frank. So, really, the author did his job.

Holy wild ride. This book took a little while to catch my attention in the beginning, but it did eventually and things got crazy. typically i can see a twist coming or at least consider the idea before it happens, idk if i was just off my game but i did NOT see this one coming. if you like books with one big twist, definitely give this a shot.

This book could have been so much. I have a background in Psych, and in theory this should have been something I really enjoyed.

But I just didn't. Even if we ignore the boundary breaking going on by the Psychotherapist, he still doesn't act like a Psychotherapist let alone one that had been working at Broadmoor for ~5 years.

the twist, holy shit

This book is so good! If you ignore the obvious patient/client violations, this story is so well written. I loved it from start to finish, completely dedicated an entire afternoon to reading this book from start to finish! I'm so so glad I read this, 0.25 stars off simply for the unrealistic patient/client relationship and privileges that would seriously never fly irl
