I’m kinda ticked off Publishers thought this story didn’t deserve to be a three book series. I need more of this world with Delta and Asher. Erin Bowman blew me away with her writing. If you’re debating on whether or not to pick this book up: just do it. You won’t be disappointed.

good sci-fi book, fast-paced but not rushed and I liked the characters

Erin, you've done it again. What an incredible twist just when I was starting to wonder where it could possibly be going. Though it's on the long side, I love that it's a standalone. Two books would have been too much, and it had a perfect ending.

Firstly this cover is beautiful and I really wanted to love this book, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

The plot and idea should have been incredible but I felt it missed the mark. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I could fully connect with the characters but I never felt like I truly learnt anything meaningful about any of them, meaning I struggled to like the characters as well as the book.

Some of the book felt extremely rushed and confusing and other things felt like they were way too long. So the idea was great, just wasn’t executed well enough for me.

I really enjoyed this one. I would say that desert/western sci-fi aren’t usually my thing, but between this, Goddess in the Machine, Dune, and Trigun, maybe I like them more than I think.

I must admit though. I thought this took place on Earth for half the book. I’m curious where Erin Bowman will go next and if she will expand upon this universe she created.
