Conversation--The Sacred Art: Practicing Presence in an Age of Distraction by Diane M. Millis

Listen. This is a book about listening. About staying with someone in mind and body and really hearing not only their words, but also what the person is trying to say but may have no words for. This is a very spiritual message, though not a religious one exactly. There are many practical tips about how to participate in a meaningful conversation, but much of it is also directed at how we can potentially hurt others by taking over. All in all, a positive message to remain present with others.

A brief but deep book on the wonder of conversation as a place to discover and be discovered. Millis draws from a breadth of contemplative spiritualities to describe the sacred art of conversation.
