I really didn't want to like this book. I read the subtitle - A Memoir of Faith, Family and Foootball - and pretty much wanted to gag. I managed not to, but I definitely rolled my eyes. I usually get annoyed with fans tho speak the words "football" and "Jesus" in the same sentence, but Adam Jones has shown me that this isn't such a heretical thing to do.

I loved his honesty and humor as he talked about his family and his history with the Longhorns. Having recently moved to Texas, I've been trying to understand new lingo and seemingly inside jokes. Jones writes about the personalities of folks in the panhandle, Austin, Houston and everywhere in between. I'm grateful for this new found appreciation for the state of Texas!

I also appreciate how Jones recognizes the ridiculousness that it takes to be a football fan. He owns up to it.

All in all a good read, especially if your interests include football, faith or Texas!

I love Vince Young!!!

This book made me laugh, cry and wish every Saturday was Longhorn football Day.

My college career was spent during the quarterback controversy and this book was a trip down memory lane- it brought back the frustration, nerves and joy of each season.

I connected with Adam, his mother and grandmother in so many ways. Reading this story made me feel like a less crazy, obsessive fan. I will always be proud of my love for the Texas Longhorns. Hook ’em Horns!!

An absolute must read for anyone who's grown up appreciating football in Texas and Texas Longhorn fans alike.

Any college football fan would enjoy this book. Have passed it along to other fans in my family.

I received this book free through the first reads program. I might not have read it otherwise or might have been much longer getting to it. It is an engaging story of a family and the dynamics of the family tied to the strong connection with football. A very good and engaging read.
