This is such a beautiful story. More than once I let out an audible “Ahh!” while reading. Axie Oh paints such a beautiful world and story in this book. You’re hopeful the entire time. It has kind of a enemies to friends to lovers vibe happening with found family. This is the first book by her I’ve read and I fell in love with her writing style and her use of imagery. I can’t wait to read more of her books! I also need her to write more mythology immediately, please and thank you.
”Wait for me, where the land meets the sea.”

A fun read. It kind of felt like the love between the main characters came out of nowhere though, didn't feel natural to me. But it was still a good book to read. The different type of creatures mentioned in the book were interesting to read about, too, and the side characters were each interesting in their own way.

I really enjoyed this book! It started slow, but I got invested pretty quick. I loved the characters and their development. The last few chapters made me go from really liking the book to loving it!

A blissful, easy to read book with lovely characters a cute love story and an amazing, detailed world, that made me smile because of it's wonders so many times. I love Mina, she's brave and ready to change her story into what she wants it to be.

I read this book back in October and it was so charming and heartwarming that I still feel warm fuzzies when I think about it. Mina was an enthralling protagonist; she wasn't strong because of her physicality or magical powers, but because of her compassion for others and the morals and teachings of her family that served as her guiding light. This standalone had just enough world-building to draw you in and a perfectly-sized cast of characters to keep you engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

Thank you so much to my friend @loveat1stwrite for putting "The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea" on my radar! This one could be the perfect read for you if you're looking for a fantasy that isn't the start of a lengthy trilogy. This has earned its rightful place in my list of 2022 favorites.
