I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Pride and Prejudice AU. AO3 references. WLW love. Fake turned real relationship. Enemies to lovers. Astrology. I was hooked from the first page by the unusual but realistic opening and Elle’s gay panic from the get-go. I found myself understanding and finding snippets of myself in both Elle and Darcy, and loved how they described themselves and their careers and their passions and each other. This did a great job of exploring the family we’re born with and how we struggle to connect and finding our own found family and true loves. I am so eager to read both sequels and hope it shows snippets of Elle and Darcy again, but also already feel connected to the future protagonists from their introductions here. I laughed, I teared up, I wrote “nooooo” and “Fuck yeah” in my book. This was a true delight and a great balance of fake relationship/real relationship/realizing feelings/physical intimacy/heartbreak/reality etc. it was paced so well and I walked away with so many quotes and moments in my mind that made my heart happy

This book was not for me… I didn’t like any of the characters and found the writing to be very repetitive. I listened as an audio book and had a really hard time getting through the last 3 hrs (it was 11 hrs long, which is very long for a romance novel!).

Read a spoiler about the third act break up and immediately lost interest in the characters. Was a bit of a bleh ending but not a bad romcom book if that’s what you’re looking for.
