I was so hopeful for this book, but honestly this is one of those examples where a trilogy should have been a duology. The last two books did not have enough plot to be entire books so Maniscalco resorted to lots of filler and needless plot twists. Also, if I have to read the word rose-gold one more time, I will lose it. I basically forced myself to read this in two days because I wanted to be done with the series and never look at it again.

Left feeling more confused with the plot holes but didn’t hate this last book entirely. Like why was Vesta so important when there were more pressing issues? Was it one or two curses happening at the same time? Celestia asked for her spell book but never got it, so what was the point of that? It would have also been nice to see all the other princes more fleshed out. So many subplots and side characters that I lost track of.

SpoilerThere was so much description of Emilia being this powerful and scary Goddess of Fury but I barely saw her demonstrate that. All bark but no bite…
And Vittoria’s character had me scratching my head. Was I supposed to hate her guts or love her like she was my own sis? She flip flopped so many times I gave up trying to figure her out. Bumped up 1/2 a star because the smut wasn’t too bad 🤷🏽‍♀️
