This book actually has a well put together mystery, but there are so many out of place Nancy moments it kind of sours the whole read. Only this particular Nancy author writes Nancy much more polite and demure than normal. She even addresses her father as "daddy". It's weird, and there is far too much emphasis on Nancy's relationship with young men. Girl is here to solve a mystery, not make out with men of questionable moral.

I read Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys throughout my school and college days.
Nancy Drew is an amateur detective who solves crimes with occasional help from her best friends, Bess and George and, her boyfriend Ned. She also has occasional help from her father Carson Drew who runs a private law practice. From finding stolen goods to missing persons and solving mysterious happenings, Nancy is a force of nature.
Until I discovered that Carolyn Keene is a pen name for a whole bunch of ghostwriters, I used to feel confused about the slight differences in each character from books to book over the many series of Nancy Drew mysteries. I like the character of Nancy best in the original books written by Mildred Wirt Benson where Nancy is truly a character to root for – an independent and street smart girl with a penchant for trouble.

Colin Baxter is no longer the biggest creep in the Nancy Drew series

One more Nancy Drew read. I feel like I am obsessed with this series. I wish to own all the books in it and this is just a start. I love this book so much. The best part was when the author added a romantic touch to this mystery. I loved this one the best. It was such a great story that focused on Venice and the way the whole story is described is so awesome. I am in love with Venice. The concept and plot were so perfectly described and thoroughly explained. The words and writing were smooth and this book was so fun to read, I enjoyed it so much and this is definitely a must-read for everyone.

Really quick and entertaining read. Despite gorgeous scenery (it's obviously set in Venice), the plot kinda fell flat, I thought. Nancy was a bit too boy crazy and less mystery crazy.

JUST AWFUL! Nancy is nothing like the Nancy Drew I know in this book!
