This book is awful. I didn't have high expectations going in, but I was still let down. There is no plot, no stakes and no meaningful character development, which means there's no payoff for anything. Things just happen without the characters making any notable effort and every potential difficulty, big or small, is solved instantly, making the plot meaningless. The characters and their relationships are just as flat as the so-called plot. The book has absolutely no driving force – there's no tension, sexual or otherwise, nor is there any conflict to speak of.

When it comes to the erotica genre, good sex scenes can make me forgive a book's failings. Unfortunately, the sex scenes in this book are mediocre at best, they dwindle in quality the further the book progresses, and get really repetitive even though the world of BDSM offers an almost endless variety of things to explore. Speaking of the BDSM aspect of the book, the MC for is a professional Domme, but continues a scene after the sub safewords, and engages in a scene where all the parties are intoxicated. Not to mention the striking lack of aftercare! Even though BDSM is a central theme of the book, it is utilized poorly. The book's plummeting sex scene quality culminates in a gross handful of scenes with a seriously bad case of "magical straight man dick cures lesbianism" syndrome.

This book was painfully straight for a F/F-centric book. Aside from the love interest realizing she's a lesbian and still having sex with a man several times, the characters get strange lesbophobic comments from everyone around them. Even the main character's brother makes a creepy, fetishistic quip about her sex life, but the lesbophobia is just treated as a funny joke by the narrative. In addition to the lesbophobia, almost every male character sexualizes the main characters in some way throughout the book. Overall, it feels like this book was written based on a voyeuristic male fantasy of "turning" lesbians.

'Yes, Mistress' was a disappointing and frustrating experience. Save yourself the trouble.

I started this book because I saw it on a goodreads list… I didn’t feel like Violet and Em had any chemistry whatsoever. The devotion that was supposedly there between them felt more like watered down puppy love, if that makes sense. And there was so little backstory throughout the book, that by the time we got to it, I no longer cared. AND I spoiled the ending for myself which was also incredibly disappointing. The pacing felt like it went a mile a minute yet in some parts and then at a snails pace in others.

M and Violent have such different lives and personality makes them to blend and fit together perfectly. However the story felt anti-climatic, all their problems were easily swept away or easily dealt with. The story alway felt like it was building towards something, but then nothing happened.

I loved the Mistress to Mommy progression in this book. Cole took the responsibility of making sure to establish that both the dom and sub were well established within the BDSM lifestyle before jumping into rough domination without negotiations. The characters continually checked in for consent both in kink and through the development of their relationship. I thought these were vital steps towards making their sex both safe and sexy. This book is hot hot hot, I found myself messy wet almost the entire time I was reading. For me, the book lost some of its luster as their relationship grew more and more serious. As romance, marriage, and children entered the book the writing seemed sloppy. The motivations of the characters were unclear and the entire thing moved at a rapid and unrealistic pace. However, I will likely read the first few chapters again, considering they are hot as hell.

I don’t remember when I read this but it’s been a few years; I just remember really liking it and the development between the MCs.

Kinky f/f that starts between them because MC makes a bet on who can hit a freckle on LI’s buttocks with a whip, and she wins? Forget too many other details - sometimes hook up with guy she’d made bet with, pregnancy at one point, LI has a sister and there’s a tie in book that follows her bdsm relationship with a guy.

I enjoyed this story.
Em and Violet were a lovely couple with some pretty hot sex .
I liked the progression of their relationship over the years. There was low angst, and no real drama which made for a nice easy love story.

Warning for those looking for lesbian only erotica, this has fmf and ffm scenes (two scenes in total) from about 70%, as well as a few F/m scenes as part of Em's job as a Dominatrix.

There is also some switching which threw me off. It lowered my rating. I did not enjoy that scene, even though it was short. It didn't prevent me from enjoying the rest though.

Some minor editorial issues. But nothing to jar me from the story.

I am interested in the M/f book that follows, and will look more into this authors collection.

Bdsm themes : humiliation, Domme, Dominatrix, pegging, bondage, whips, impact play.
