I just love the first book so much.
This one was good. I just wasn’t like crazy about it like I was with the first one. But at the end of the day I enjoyed it and had a good time.

I felt that all the added back stories to death cast itself and all the added POVs just really added to my questioning of the whole system and I just kept thinking of plot holes with the “lore” of how death cast works. At the end of the day though I know that’s not the point/main focus of the story.

I did really enjoy the connections that were made between this one and TBDATE.

My last major critic of this is why the hell it had to yet again be about two people meeting in the last hours before death. Just feels too favorable to the story whereas I feel like the same points could’ve been made without it being a slight variation of the first book. Like there are so many people in this world getting death’s call and I would’ve liked if the MCs link felt a little more different than Mateo/Rufus in the first book.
