If Jarin had been a woman, I would've rolled my eyes at the misogynistic writing and considered it another loss in literature. But Wen Spencer is a genius and this book really emphasizes just how deep our prejudices run. The reverse gender roles made me uncomfortable the whole time and it was wonderfully refreshing.
