I wasn't prepared for the triggers in this book and that's on me. There are such thoughtful stories and powerful writing here however I suggest that you educate yourself before you jump into this one!

A series of really compelling, if often violent and disturbing, short stories. The writing is acerbic and biting, but still conveys a deep sense of character and empathy, even with characters acting in anger or fear.

Milk Blood Heat is a phenomenal collection of stories. The writing is sharp, visceral, evocative. The stories are varied, but they all pulse with life and emotion. I really enjoyed this and cannot wait to read more from Dantiel Moniz in the future!
