I think this might be the best representation of dissociation ever. The FMC doesn’t bat an eye to all the weird shit - i swear because she’s fucking numb because no reasonable person would ever react like this. Worse than Bella and Edward.

When Lilith Maverick lands at Dreary Shadows academy for her senior year, she couldn’t have predicted the level of disdain she’d be met with from the Shadow Brothers.

Repeated attempts to warn her away are pointless as all five Brothers are drawn to her. As they say, there’s a thin line between love and hate.

Dreary Shadows Part 1 has some new takes on the popular storyline. Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for Part 2 because that cliffy is hateful. LOL!

Dreary Shadows pulled me in from page one. Lilith was sent to private school in Dreary Shadows. She is warned against the Shadow brother Chaos, Cain, Emmett, Lorenzo and Sebastian. But the more she learns of them, the more she wants them. Even after discovering what they are doesn’t stop her. She also befriends Blade and Ezra who try to keep her safe. Throughout the book the banter between Lilith and guys is Incredible. I love the ending and can’t wait for part two.

Vampire stories that hold your attention can be hard to come by these days. Most are either echoes of previously written tales or ones that just don't sit right.

Dreary Shadows felt a natural easy read. I picked it up and read it blind, which I'd strongly recommend for the best read!

Lilth moves to Dreary Shadows after her mother marries her (now!) stepdad and sends her to this exclusive private school and pays for housing just outside the school to live in by herself. To say her and her mother don't get on is an understatement.

As is normal, the new girl gathers the attention. First by the guy who shows her around, Ezra who introduces her to his extremely weirdly-creepy-but-sad, flirty roommate Blade.

Immediately she's warned not to go near the Shadow Brothers. So the inevitable happens. Her snarky attitude gets their back up, and at the same time also further interest. Chaos and Cain seem the angriest with the whole ordeal...while Emmett, Sebastian and Enzo seem to take a liking to her!

They happen to live in the creepy castle just down her street so she sees them pop up every now and then - but in odd places. But the rumour goes that if you go in the castle you don't come out...

She keeps seeing or hearing odd things when it comes to them. But it's always quick flashes...

But when she's attacked in the street after going for a run and fatally wounded, shes rescued by Sebastian and taken to the castle to recover.

She discovers a huge secret that changes everything. Not just for her, but accidentally for the Shadow Brothers too.

This was an easy, quick read. One that can be easily picked up and put down. Perfect for a summer break read! Written well with a flowing story, good characters that interact well and chemistry when it flares is heated!

I'd say this is towards the higher end of YA reading, due to the strong language and sexual content, as the storyline isn't that complex and fun to read!

I absolutely loved this book!

Lilith starts a new life in a new town and a new school after being sent away by her mom. She stars to gain the notice of the brothers everyone keeps warning her away from. Little does she know she fits into their world better than she ever knew.

Lilith is so sassy she was easy to love.
The boys are all so different but equally as possessive. I couldn't put this down once I started it. I can't wait for part two!!

Was it kinda meh? Yes.
Was it cringe? Yes.
Did the MC annoy me? Yes.
Will I continue reading the series? Also yes.
Why? Because the books are short, the story's fast-paced, and I'm curious about what these vampires, who are over a thousand years old but act like teenagers, are gonna do next.
Bite me.

This is the first book by R E Bond that I have read.

We are given a supernatural world filled with vampire's, wolves, witches and many other supernatural creatures.

We starts off this story with Liliths mom remarrying and being sent off to Dreary Shadows by her mom and her new stepdad.

While there she uncovers a whole new world and finds she has a lot to discover about this new world and about herself.

Lilith gets the attention of Chaos, Cain, Emmett, Lorenzo and Sebastian, the Shadow brothers (I haven't got a favourite yet but I'm leaning towards Chaos). She also becomes friends with Enzo and Blade who unsuccessfully try to keep her away from the brothers, to try and protect her.

Lilith is a strong and sassy character. I feel she has a past that we will hopefully find out more about in future books.

And the cliffhanger!!!!!

I can't wait to see what happens in PT 2.
