I’m not a big fan of Zero Hour. Besides Convergence it’s definitely the worst DC “Crisis” (and perhaps is worse or equal to Convergence—I haven’t read Convergence in a while but it had some great tie ins if nothing else). For reasons many people have said before, with just how convoluted it is, how it doesn’t really actually change much, etc.

I also am just not a Dan Jurgens fan.

A forgotten 90s relic for a good reason. The story is a rushed mess, most of the tie ins have little to do with the actual plot and meander endlessly, the art is all over the place, and it’s by far the least impactful “Crisis,” it honestly shouldn’t even count as one. The only real noteworthy change was it rebooted the Legion of Super-Heroes, and while that was a good era for the team and there are some genuinely great issues here, the vast majority of it is a complete waste of time. This took me a month to get through and that’s a month I’ll never get back.

You know after how terrible I had heard this was I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. I mean it's not great but it's not terrible.

The main downsides are that the story doesn't feel like it makes a shred of sense. But on the other hand it's pretty well paced and not as overwhelming dense as Crisis on Infinite Earths. It's a fairly easy and entertaining read for what it is.

Interesting, if uneven crisis story. I think my favorite part was seeing Barbara Gordon back in action as Batgirl.

An ok attempt at trying to clean up some of the residual continuity odds and ends left over from the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The big payoff for the story may have had more of an impact on me if I hadn't previously known Hal/Parallax was the true mastermind behind the whole thing and not Extrant. I'd really only recommend this to hardcore DC fans who may have missed it originally for whatever reason or are interested in all the Crisis events.
