I've had a couple people over the years slap this book on my desk and tell me it's AH-MAZING. I don't like werewolves, and I haven't loved TJ Klune's other books, so I've always said "yeah okay, whatever. I'll put it on my tbr."
I could kick my past self because it was pretty flippin' good. It's Freak the Mighty meets Shiver. Sounds weird, right? But it works!
We don't get enough protagonists like Ox, but he's hard not to love. I just wanna squeeze his big himbo self. I could see people getting salty about how repetitive this book is, but I think it's purposeful; Ox establishes very early on that he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I think his hamster-wheel-thoughts reflect that.
Ugh the first 25% of this book was *chef's kiss*. The middle dragged for obvious reasons, and the ending never quite hit like the beginning did but god did it hit. Ugh I'm gonna miss the whole fam. I need this book on my shelf.

Something fun for the summertime. Loved our main character. The age gap was…something.
