Never.”
“Never come for me.”
Never look for me."
"If you do, I will take everything from you.”

Oh wow. Wowow. So that's what The Brightest Night is.

4.5*
If you have been following me for a while, you know Jennifer L Armentrout is one of my favorite authors of all time. Her writing has shaped me into the person and book lover I am today, and let me tell you, this book was literally all the reasons why I love her.
I loved the development of the characters, the romance, the plot twists, and an ending that stole my breath. Watching Evie and Luc work to protect t each other and support each other, flaws and all, was so heartwarming. I of course also loved seeing the OG Lux squad in this book (especially Katy cause she hasn't been in the previous books as much as Daemon).
This book made me laugh, it made me cry, it was breathtaking how she tied in the entire world into this book
Spoilerlike as much as I hate Blake, I liked having him alive as a plot twist.

I kind of understand how people are saying this read as more of a filler book (which I get and why I gave it 4.5 stars), but nonetheless, if you love this world and its characters, it's just a fabulous book with an ending that will make you faint. I am so excited for the next installment!

JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT YOU CANNOT END A BOOK LIKE THAT AND THEN IGNORE THE SERIES AND WRITE SEVERAL BAD FANTASY NOVELS IN THE FOLLOWING YEARS AND NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE NEXT BOOK IN THIS SERIES.

Distraught feelings aside, I 100000000% understand why book 4 hasn't happened. I didn't realize The Brightest Night came out in October of 2020, and given the content of this book and what The Fevered Winter is centered around, it's not necessarily something that would sell well in a world dealing with an actual flu-like pandemic. Still, a girl can hope that JLA will return to this series. Because it really is the best of her YA catalog so far.

I knew the story left too much unanswered for this to be the last book. UGH! How long do we have to wait

So I love Jennifer L Armentrout. She is an amazing author and I have read several of her series and even a couple of her stand alone books. I have now just finished the Origin series. This set is an amazing series. I have loved following Luke and Eve(Nadia) story. I'm seriously still sitting here in shock at the ending. I don't know how to feel. I'm ready to cry and I want answers. I'm sad to say the fourth book is not out yet but will be released soon. Honestly in my opinion not soon enough. This series has love, betrayal, friendship, adoption, hostages, fighting, aliens and honestly so much more. The plot is amazing and you truly fall in love with the characters. I have been very upset with some things that have happened to characters and relieved about others. If you're looking for your next series I recommend this. Also the narrator for this series is really good.

Another amazing book my JLA ❤

After 6 years I know that I will devour everything this woman writes. And this book was no exception.

Before starting this book I was super afraid, I mean Luc and Evie already went through hell to survive and be together and things were too perfect...too calm. I should have known better.

Luc and Evie were the sweetest thing in this book. Their relationship evolved so much in so many levels! They are so perfect together. Evie is so strong and fierce even if she doesn’t realize that, and Luc is such a dork sometimes, those lame pick-up lines crack me up!
