A little too "all over the place." By the time you get to the end, you don't really care any more. Plus, dangled edges I don't really care for series mysteries. Same detective, yes. Unraveling the mystery of his or her life through several books, no.

As the book opens, Aimee Leduc goes and visits her godfather's girlfriend Xavierre. Only moments after Aimee leaves her, Xavierre is murdered and Morbier, her godfather is implicated in a "crime of passion." The next three days pass in a blur as Aimee races against l'horloge to save her friend. A quick read. Fast-paced and well written.

Couldn't stop reading it. Once I finished it, I picked up the next one in the series.

Not the best of the Aimee Leduc series. Quite boring and repetitive until more than half way through the story. But the ending was exciting and tied up the story nicely.

I love this series. As a stand-alone, I did not enjoy this book as much as some of the others. It seems like some of the plot points and developments are too similar to others in previous books. The characters in this series though are what keep me coming back. Aimee is amazing and I love the supporting cast as well.
