I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update. Loved this! Hudson and Mackenna have been best friends since they were little. They never admitted their true feelings back then, but made a pact, and then Hayden took off to join the service. Mackenna was angry and hurt, but moved on with her life. She feels like she is still drifting through life never living up to what every one expects. He ho hum life is shaken up when Hayden returns home. He is growing tired of the service, of being away from family and from being away from Mackenna. He decides to use his time at home to make her realize what they could have together, if she can get out of her own way. The more time they spend together the more she falls for him, but us terrified of being hurt again. The story delves into their relationships with their families and the love that hey have been denying all these years. It's so good!!

A sweet second chance romance. I'd recommend reading the prequel (Pact with a Heartbreaker) first for the full effect.

Captain Heartbreaker was one of my most highly anticipated reads. I've been waiting for this bad boy for more than a year if memory serves me right and I'm happy to report that it was totally worth the wait.

I loved the sexual tension between Mac and Hud as well as their connection that spanned childhood into adulthood. I loved their journey, it was an adventure of self and relationship discovery. It's also hot and sexy with a bit of humor.

I can't recommend this book and series enough. If you love small town romance that centers around sisters I very highly recommend it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This was a cannot put down book for me, I held my breath for at least the first 30% waiting to see if Mac would forgive Hudson and start a relationship with him or keep avoiding him.
Mac and Hudson had some steamy chemistry which we saw in their novella Pact with a Heartbreaker and it was still there when they reunited 10yrs later.
It was heartbreaking to see how little Mac thought of herself and I loved how we got to see her learn how valuable she is to her family and the town. Meanwhile Hudson was so conflicted by what he wanted, what he loved and doing what he thought would honour his late father.
Loved this story

Thank you to the author for the book in exchange for an honest review.

Mac and Hudson's chemistry leaps off the page from their first scene together in the book. They are best friends but the underlying sizzle is there in leaps and bounds.

Mac feels like her life isn't as important as her sisters, they both have partners, they have real jobs while she fills in for people and works at her future brother in laws bar. Even when people try to tell her that she's more than that she runs, she doesn't like being the center of attention.

Hudson is on leave and he's home for a short time. He can't wait to see his best friend and the woman he loves. He's talked about her so much to his friend Caleb he feels like he knows her. But can Hudson be with Mac for the time he's home and leave her again?

Hud and Mac's relationship spans their lifetime. They were friends then lovers then maybe more than that. They just fit and I love them! This series is awesome! If you haven't grabbed it you should, and leave the author love!

I read this without reading the other books in the series. Friends to lovers and second chance romance aren’t my favorite tropes, but I loved how much Hudson loved Mac. His devotion was really sweet. But I found their stubbornness and Mac’s fear and insecurities infuriating.

The Havenbrook series is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite romance series and Brighton Walsh is an auto-buy author because at this point I'm pretty sure I'd read anything by her! I've loved all the Haven sisters and the couples in the Havenbrook series but Mac and Hudson are definitely my favourites so far! The life-long friendship, sexual chemistry and emotional connection between them was absolute perfection and although things did get a little bit angsty (and drawn out) towards the end, I was fully engaged in their story and couldn't put this book down, even when I knew I should. This second-chance romance had me swooning and definitely had me all-up in my single feelings (
