This is definitely an upgrade compared to the first book in the series.

The plot took a turn for the better. I really liked the new characters and even though it ended on a cliffhanger, it was set up well enough that we know where the next book will start and how it will develop.
The first book seemed like a childish fantasy where everything works out for the main character but this one was better thought out.
The reveal was surprising and delivered at the right time.
I wasn't excited to start this book but I'm definitely excited now to start the next one.

This sequel didn’t hit me as much as the first one. The pacing was off

I’m happy we got a lot more of Harristan though!
