Full disclosure - I am an avowed Audrey Hepburn fan. Girls who like dance and acting and fashion will absolutely adore this very short, sweet bio about Hepburn. It reveals all of her high points, along with her childhood experiences during WWII. Full blown optimism, joy of life, and being who you are no matter what the worlds says are the abiding themes, which clearly reveal Hepburn's character. The illustrations are stunning. And I hope this will lead young ladies to access her body of film work (maybe wait until the teen years for Breakfast at Tiffany's).

As an aside, on one vacation my family and I found ourselves watching Sabrina in the evening on the hotel TV. Even my son was captivated with the film - both kids wanted to see it again. That is Hepburn's magnetism. I think I'll go pop Roman Holiday into the DVD right now!

I am not sure how this got added to my list, but it was LOVELY! The illustrations were gorgeous, and of course, Audrey style comes through loud and clear. But what was more impressive, was Audrey’s life story (that I never knew!) and character of kindness that was clear in simple sentences for children. It’s not a book that I would read my toddler, because there are a lot more words than she could take in, but it may be one that we own for the future.

There's just something about Audrey Hepburn and this simple picture book biography is a great introduction to her life and work. For kids who are into fashion and old-time Hollywood glamor, this is a great book for them.

Very lovely book about a lovely person! This was a really nice overview of Audrey Hepburn's life and I was glad to see that it included the interesting details from her early life and her humanitarian efforts. The illustrations are delightful and fit the mood of the book perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this book!

Just Being Audrey was an enjoyable read with wonderful illustrations. The story gives a glimpse at the person Audrey Hepburn was and has a wonderful message of being yourself and being kind. This may be a book teachers love a little more than students, but there are definitely lessons that can be taught with this book on character and overcoming obstacles. This book is a good way to introduce Hepburn to yet another generation of admirers. May favorite quote from the book is, "Like with flowers," she said, "it's the same with children: With a little help they can survive and they can stand up and live another day." The book made me love Audrey Hepburn even more!
