Content warning for cheating, rape, cannibalism (? maybe).

A man in his early-thirties, going along with the life that was set before him all the while making plans to move in with his male partner, setting things up with the intention of giving the young man a stable life. Things take a turn when his wife tells him she's pregnant, with a mix of emotions and conflict, he goes out to the trail where him and the young man often meet for intimacy. He finds the least unexpected - the hungry man.

The concept of this story is intriguing enough, however when a short story tells you at the very end what it's theme is when it's more or less laying it out to you already in the closing half - that's not always a good sign. Specifically with how short this was, it's better to let the reader figure it out on their own. Which makes me wish it was longer because with more fleshing out, it could've made me feel more than just "oh, okay, that's the takeaway from this".

It had potential. If it was little bit more worked on, I think it would've been a good story.
