5 ★’s — lola rock has raised the bar and i fear i'll never be the same. i would give this book 6 stars if i could.

pack darling: part one is the first part of an extremely long slow-burn reverse harem romance featuring a snarky as fuck, spice-loving omega who is reluctantly thrown into a pack of five of the most beautiful and deadly men she's ever seen. lilah has to learn to juggle life with four alpha mercs who don't want her there, their slimey kiss-ass beta chauffeur, and the drop-dead gorgeous omega who might be angling to rip her throat out for encroaching on his pack.

Bra off, spicy Cheetos, and a TBR pile like whoa, I’m set for the perfect Friday night.

lilah was relatable and hilarious. every other page i was chuckling and trying not to highlight the entire book. she was very mentally strong while at the same time having flaws and weaknesses. she wasn't perfect and she wasn't trying to be. and there were so many reader references that i felt right at home.

there were so many parts of this book i loved. hunter's calm dependability, finn's fun-loving attitude, jett's deadly intensity, atlas' knee-weakening dominance, and orion's domestic pampering and care for all the little things. despite almost ripping her to shreds the first time they met, her relationship with orion was especially delightful. i loved the way they came to depend on each other and look after each other when nobody else would.

the pining-yearning-want-need vibe in this book was overwhelming to say the least. everyone was trying so hard to stay away from each other and not get involved. lilah had every intention of leaving, the wyverns had every intention of kicking her out once they no longer needed her there, and as they say, plans are for fools. they never stood a chance.

i could write a fucking essay about each of these characters and how much i loved them, but honestly orion takes the fucking cake. there was a strong enemies-to-lovers vibe going on with them and it makes me want to reread the book all over again. she understood him in a way his mates never could and for that he gave her his undying loyalty. ugh. nobody can ever compete with him.

the groveling and begging in this book was god tier and i just want to read more books with the deadliest, scariest mercenaries turning into puddles of goo and falling to their knees in front of their girl.

the writing was amazing and i was laughing the whole way through. lilah was hilarious and there were so many comparisons and metaphors that my brain was working overtime. lola rock made the most mundane things feel so rich and vibrant and i loved every page of it.

this was a very very slow burn romance that does not end in a hea. and actually, there's not a ton of romance in this first book if i'm honest (but it's full of angst and yearning.) the second book does promise a hea ending though and it's very much worth reading through to get to it. this was a great book!

Oh man oh man, do the men of this story have some making up to do. Atlas, Finn, Hunter, Orien, and Jett were loved by me since I first read about them. A pack that already has an omega (Orien) is basically forced to get another. One could see how that may mess up their dynamic as omegas and their alphas are extremely possessive of one another. Our lovely female mc just wants to be alone without the worry of being taken by alphas or forced to breed pack for pack. But when a deal presents itself where she may join a pack without having to just in the back completely, does she to take? Well, the u just have to read to do and out.

I haven’t read an omega verse quite like this. I wish the alphas were more alpha like. I felt like they let everyone run their lives. I didn’t entirely love the world and everything didn’t quite flow for me.

I reread this book too often to not rate it 5 stars
