Tender, tight little stories full of characters who are sometimes a little weird, and maybe trying to be not so weird, or maybe just trying to get comfortable with their weirdness. As one of them says in one of the stories, they are all doing the best they can. Matthew clearly cares very deeply for his characters, that their lives are important to him, that he wants whats best for them, comes through in waves. My favorites were "The Great Go Find", "For Sale: Solid Wood Furniture, Used", and "Everyone Here Is Happy".
