Following on from the fall of the rebellion in Raraku, The Bonehunters sets into motion a skein of plots into tumbling motion with players old and new thrown into the fray. Where previous books focussed more on suffering and the ways in which people deal with it and move through it in war, love, motherhood and friendship, this tale treats with themes surrounding the aftermath of suffering. The scars, grief, escapism and hope that come as the dust settles and the world continues. Although the dust never really settles in these books and as per usual the rapid flow between battles of wit and weaponry, with plenty of heart stuffed in between makes for great reading.
Graphic: Gore, Violence, and War
Moderate: Child death and Abandonment
