This was a quick and easy read with enjoyable characters. I really liked Sebastian McCabe and Jeff Cody, his brother in law and Watson in the books. This is how you kick off a new series.

Decent story. An little cliched at times, but not bad. A bit of mild language. I might have enjoyed it a little better if the narrator had been good. This has to be the worst narrated audio book I've ever listened to. He had such odd intonation and emphasis on such weird places in sentences. It was really hard to get into the story. But since I already paid for it I decided to push through and finish it.

Well, I managed to get the second book in this series before reading this one, but I must say that it didn't damp my enjoyment of either of them one bit.

What can I say? I find Jeff a delightful character: a true underdog, with his heart broken by his former girlfriend, his brother in law publishing his mysteries with no fuss while he can't find a publisher, a very stressful job (mostly because of his overly sensitive boss) and if having to deal with a Sherlockian colloquium wasn't enough, there is also great robbery and murder *laughs*

I really like Jeff and McCabe's relationship, the way in which they taunt each other while is plain to see how much they really enjoy their banter and rivalry.

And the mystery was very interesting, and I was more in Jeff' side of it: totally clueless.

I will be reading this series, it's great :D
