I enjoyed the setting of this book; I feel there's not a lot of fantasy set in what feels like the wild west. It was also refreshing to have a book that wasn't too long. The first 75% of the book had me gripped; it meandered a little towards the end, but as it is the first in a series, I presume that will be explained in subsequent books. Definitely will be reading the next but not immediately reaching for it.

Ho iniziato questa saga perché spinta dal consiglio di un amico per me molto importante e la continuerò per lo stesso motivo, ma quantomeno a mio parere questo primo volume è stato una supercazzola non indifferente.
Partendo dal presupposto che fino ad un buon 70% mi sono annoiata come non mai, il libro inizia ad essere interessante per il restante 30%.
L'uomo in nero lo considero un cattivo coi fiocchi e Roland per il momento riesco solo a paragonarlo a Shadow di American Gods.
Per il momento resto tiepida a riguardo di questa saga, mi esprimerò più avanti

Different from any other Stephen king book I’ve read with shades of Eyes of the Dragon and the Talisman.

At times a little hard to follow but an oddly addictive read.

I didn't understand the point of this book at all until I started the next book. Not sure I would reread as the next book starts with a really clear recap of this book.
